Collection: Archive Collections from Pringle of Scotland
Pringle of Scotland's Archive Collections including our Kessock Argyle, Pringle Golf, Geometric George and From The Archives collections of knitwear inspired from our extensive archive of '80's and '90's knitwear.
Meet the Kessock, our classic lambswool Argyle V neck jumper revived from our Archive and reimagined for today. Showing off one of our most iconic Argyle designs, this jumper was inspired by the sports casuals of the 80s and developed a cult following. The classic diamond pattern was originally derived from the tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll in western Scotland and would have been worn by Scottish Highlanders from the 17th century. During the early 20th century Pringle adapted this tartan into a knitted intarsia design that became its signature ‘Argyle’. It was adopted by the Duke of Windsor and became a hit with the fashionable set of the 1920s. Today, the Argyle pattern is considered an icon of British style and the Kessock is one of the originals.
