Pringle of Scotland x Lucy Orta
For the Autumn/Winter ’17 catwalk show we collaborated with British artist Lucy Orta on three bespoke pieces. The original jumper, dress and bag were inspired by Lucy’s project and exhibition ‘Identity + Refuge’ from 1995, which championed sustainability and featured pieces of clothing made from recycled garments.
Lucy originally trained as a designer and began exploring experimental art in 1992. Alongside co-founder Li Edelkoort Lucy pioneered Man & Humanity, a program that stimulates socially driven and sustainable design.
The limited edition pieces were made exclusively for the catwalk stitched and panelled from recycled argyle jumpers – one of our most recognisable and intrinsically Scottish designs. We are delighted to introduce a reinterpreted design as a printed argyle jumper for you to purchase.
A percentage of the sale of each Pringle of Scotland x Lucy Orta jumper will be donated to the Heba Women’s Project, a charity personally chosen by Lucy.
